I am glad to say that for the second year in a row, our kids slept through a good fireworks display. It was a pretty good display here in our hometown, but I now sit here watching the end of the Boston Pops special . . . and I have a few observations . . . okay really they’re questions.

1) Is it ironic that a UK comedian is hosting the Independence Day celebration from Boston? Click here to see who it is!
- Do you find the following statement from the previous comedian’s wikipedia to be a bit funny? “Ferguson’s experience in entertainment was as a drummer in a little-known punk band[2] called Bastards from Hell.[citation needed] The band, later known as Dreamboys[citation needed], performed regularly in Glasgow in 1980-1982.[3]”

2) Is it ironic that the finale song for our fireworks was God Bless America sung by none other than . . . Celine Dion?

3) How much money do fireworks really cost? I mean, how much time, effort, GDP goes up in smoke? Don’t get me wrong — I really enjoy a good fireworks display.

4) Why does it sound like bombs are going off in my quiet neighborhood tonight?

Bible drawn into Hong Kong sex publication row - Yahoo! News:

No, I don’t think the Bible should be listed as “indecent” but when we put so much focus on other’s words and thoughts, then we shouldn’t be surprised how they look at our book - - the BIBLE!  We have a lot to learn about our actions.
