I am glad to say that for the second year in a row, our kids slept through a good fireworks display. It was a pretty good display here in our hometown, but I now sit here watching the end of the Boston Pops special . . . and I have a few observations . . . okay really they’re questions.

1) Is it ironic that a UK comedian is hosting the Independence Day celebration from Boston? Click here to see who it is!
- Do you find the following statement from the previous comedian’s wikipedia to be a bit funny? “Ferguson’s experience in entertainment was as a drummer in a little-known punk band[2] called Bastards from Hell.[citation needed] The band, later known as Dreamboys[citation needed], performed regularly in Glasgow in 1980-1982.[3]”

2) Is it ironic that the finale song for our fireworks was God Bless America sung by none other than . . . Celine Dion?

3) How much money do fireworks really cost? I mean, how much time, effort, GDP goes up in smoke? Don’t get me wrong — I really enjoy a good fireworks display.

4) Why does it sound like bombs are going off in my quiet neighborhood tonight?
